✨The First Move

Third Person POV -

The glass walls of Singhania Group Headquarters reflected the sharp morning sunlight, making the skyscraper look like a monument of power in the middle of Delhi’s financial district.
Inside the top floor conference room, the atmosphere was tense.

A long table stretched across the room, surrounded by board members and executives who looked unusually nervous.

At the head of the table sat Reyansh Singhania.

He leaned back slightly in his chair, fingers loosely intertwined as he studied the financial reports placed before him.

His expression remained completely unreadable.

Beside him sat Ayaan Singhania, his cousin, while across the table stood Aditya Rathore, his childhood friend and legal advisor.

One of the executives cleared his throat.

Sir… regarding Kapoor Enterprises, their stock value has remained stable this quarter.

Reyansh slowly lifted his eyes.

Stable? he repeated calmly.

Yes, sir.

A faint silence followed.

Reyansh tapped a finger against the table.

Then change that.

The executive blinked.

Sir?

Reyansh’s voice remained dangerously calm.

Begin selling our shadow shares.

Ayaan looked up immediately.

Reyansh… that will crash their stock value.

Reyansh finally allowed the smallest hint of a smile.

That’s the point.

Aditya crossed his arms thoughtfully.

You’ve been planning this for months, haven’t you?

Reyansh didn’t answer.

Instead, he pushed the file toward the executive.

Spread the rumors.

Investor panic will do the rest.

Within minutes, phones began ringing across the room.

Orders were passed.

Deals were triggered.

Stock market algorithms reacted instantly.

And somewhere across the city…

Kapoor Enterprises began to fall.

Kapoor Enterprises –

The Same Time
Inside Rajiv Kapoor’s office, multiple phones rang simultaneously.

Assistants rushed in and out of the room.

Sir, our shares dropped three percent in the last ten minutes!

Rajiv Kapoor stood up immediately.

What?

Another employee rushed in with a tablet.

Sir, investors are selling rapidly.

Something triggered a chain reaction.

Rajiv frowned deeply.

This doesn’t happen randomly.

He stared at the numbers on the screen.

Someone was behind this.

Someone powerful.

But he had no idea who.

Delhi University – Afternoon

Meanwhile, life continued normally on the university campus.

Students gathered near the pathways, discussing assignments and weekend plans.

Among them walked Mayra  with her best friend Anaya .

Anaya was talking rapidly about a college event.

Mayra, listen to me, she said dramatically.

If you don’t come to the fest this weekend, I will personally drag you there.

Mayra smiled softly.

You always say that.

And I always mean it.

They continued walking toward the main gate when suddenly Mayra stopped.

A faint whining sound reached her ears.

Did you hear that? she asked quietly.

Anaya looked confused.

Hear what?

Mayra followed the sound toward the roadside.

Near the pavement, a small white puppy lay trembling beside the road.

Its leg was scratched, and it looked frightened.

Mayra’s expression immediately softened.

Oh no…

Without hesitation, she crouched beside the puppy.

Anaya sighed.

Mayra…

But Mayra had already gently picked up the tiny animal.

It’s hurt, she whispered.

The puppy whimpered weakly.

Mayra carefully wrapped part of her dupatta around its small leg to stop the bleeding.

Anaya shook her head.

You can’t rescue every stray in the city.

Mayra looked at the puppy for a moment before answering quietly.

Maybe not.

She stroked its head gently.

But I can save this one.

Anaya sighed but handed her a water bottle.

Mayra carefully let the puppy drink.

Across the street, a black luxury car stood silently parked.

Inside the car sat Reyansh Singhania.

His gaze remained fixed on the scene.

Beside the driver’s seat, Karan Mehta watched through the mirror.

Sir, Karan said quietly, “we should head back.

The meeting—

Reyansh raised a hand slightly.

Karan immediately stopped talking.

Outside the window, Mayra continued comforting the injured puppy.

Completely unaware she was being watched.

Karan studied the scene again.

She seems… kind.

Reyansh’s expression didn’t change.

Kindness doesn’t change who her father is.

His voice was calm.

Cold.

Emotionless.

The puppy whimpered softly as Mayra gently carried it toward the nearby veterinary clinic.

For a brief moment, Reyansh’s eyes followed her.

Then he looked away.

Drive.

The engine started.

The car pulled away from the campus.

Singhania Mansion – Evening

The grand Singhania mansion stood quietly under the fading evening light.

Inside the living room sat Kabir Singhania and Riya Singhania.

Both looked up as Reyansh entered.

Kabir stood up immediately.

bhai I heard what happened in the market today.

Reyansh loosened his tie slightly.

Good.

Kabir frowned.

You’re attacking Kapoor Enterprises.

It wasn’t a question.

Reyansh walked toward the bar and poured himself a drink.

Riya looked confused, glancing between the two brothers.

Wait… what? she asked.

Why Kapoor Enterprises bhai?

Kabir and Reyansh exchanged a quick glance.

Reyansh’s expression instantly turned neutral.

Business rivalry, he said casually.

Riya crossed her arms.

bhai You don’t usually destroy companies just for rivalry.

Reyansh gave a faint smirk.

Maybe I felt like it.

Riya rolled her eyes.

You businessmen are weird.

She grabbed her phone from the table.

I’m going upstairs.

As she walked away, she shook her head.

Just don’t drag the whole market into your ego battles.

The moment she disappeared upstairs, the room fell silent.

Kabir exhaled slowly.

You shouldn’t be doing this.

Reyansh took a slow sip of his drink.

They started it years ago.

Kabir’s jaw tightened slightly.

I know.

A heavy silence filled the room.

Kabir was the only one who knew the truth.

The only one who knew what had really happened years ago.

Reyansh placed the glass down.

And now they’re going to lose everything.

Kabir rubbed his temples.

You’re going too far bhai.

Reyansh’s eyes darkened.

This is just the beginning.

Later That Night

Back at Singhania Headquarters, Reyansh stood near the large window overlooking the city.

Karan entered the room.

Sir, Kapoor Enterprises lost eight percent of its share value today.

Reyansh nodded slightly.

Good.

Karan hesitated.

And the next step?

Reyansh turned slowly.

His voice was calm.

Prepare the proposal.

Karan looked confused.

For a business merger?

Reyansh’s eyes darkened.

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

No.

He walked past Karan toward the door.

Prepare a marriage proposal.

Karan froze.

Reyansh paused for a moment before adding the final words.

For Mayra Kapoor.

Outside the window, the city lights flickered on.

And somewhere in Delhi, Mayra Kapoor was feeding milk to the tiny puppy she had rescued.

Completely unaware…

that she had just become the center of a revenge planned for years.

To be continue.....
